Break out Modeling


A break out model is a simulation model which represents a small portion of the initial model. For very large models this technique is useful to capture a more accurate representation of the stress state of the structure with a significant reduction of the computation run time

Uses of Break Out Modeling Technique:

  • Mesh convergence studies
  • Fatigue simulations
  • Updating specific part in an assembly / design changes
  • Optimization studies of specific portions of structure
  • Reduction of simulation run time
